At Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital (KCCMH), we are deeply committed to supporting our local community. Through fiscal sponsorships, partnerships, education and active community involvement, we strive to make a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.

Teddy Bear Clinics

Our Teddy Bear Clinics give local kindergartners a chance to tour the hospital and receive their very own teddy bear. As they visit departments like Imaging, the lab, and the emergency room, they learn the importance of hand-washing and see medical equipment up close—while their teddy bear enjoys a fun, pretend examination. These clinics help children feel more comfortable in a hospital setting, showing them that we’re here to help, and there’s no need to be afraid.

Bike Rodeos & Bike Helmets for First Grade Students

KCCMH collaborates with the Burlington Police Department and Kit Carson County Sheriff’s Office to promote bike safety through Bike Rodeos. Each first-grader in the county receives a new bike helmet, helping them stay safe on their cycling adventures.

Celebration of Summer and Old Town Pioneer Days

KCCMH supports the Burlington Chamber of Commerce in bringing these great summer events to our community.

Kit Carson County Fair

We’re proud sponsors of a variety of activities at the Kit Carson County Fair, including the Pro Rodeo.

Local Athletic Booster Clubs and School Activities

KCCMH supports local schools through sponsorship of athletic programs and student activities, contributing to the success of our youth.

Food Drive

KCCMH employees come together each year for a food drive to support Prairie Family Center, our local food bank. Together, we help ensure that families in need have access to essential resources.

Old Town Winter Wonderland, Christmas Tree Stroll and The Giving Tree

During the holiday season, KCCMH embraces the spirit of giving. We participate in Old Town’s Winter Wonderland with horse-drawn wagon rides and a fundraiser for the Prairie Family Center Toys & Joys program. Our lobby features a “Giving Tree,” where community members can donate brand-new toys to be distributed to local families through the Prairie Family Center.

Parade of Lights Participant

Our team comes together to join the Parade of Lights, a beloved annual holiday tradition in Burlington. We proudly decorate a float to light up the town and spread holiday cheer.
