Level IV Trauma Center

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has determined that KCCMH meets the required resources and commitment for level IV trauma center designation. To earn this designation level, KCCMH had to pass an in-depth evaluation process by the state.

What does Level IV Trauma Center mean?

As a Level IV Trauma Center, KCCMH is capable of receiving and stabilizing trauma patients, including those with life threatening injuries or illnesses. If necessary, once stabilized, patients can be transported from the Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital to another facility.
