Ultrasound

Ultrasound, also called sonography, is an imaging method that uses high frequency sound waves to produce precise images of structures within your body. Those images often provide vital information that is valuable in diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and conditions. 

In addition to viewing the fetus during pregnancy, ultrasounds are used to view internal organs as they function and to assess blood flow through various vessels.
